Seven units earn hand hygiene recognition

Congratulations to seven units across Michigan Medicine, who were recently recognized by Infection Prevention and Epidemiology as the top performing areas for hand hygiene compliance in May!

The units are: CVC ICU, 8DNS, CVC OR, radiology prep/recovery, UH OR, UH PACU and the Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital OR. All seven will receive an award from IPE and be added to the department’s honor roll.

Dozens of others were added to the honor roll, as well, for achieving high hand hygiene marks last month. They include: Mott OR, PCTU, 7W, MPACU, CCMU, 6B, peds dialysis, 12W, EVS, 6C, MSSU Blue, MPU prep/recovery, pediatric emergency, 7E, 7A, 5C, adult dialysis, SICU, CVC5, TBICU, adult emergency, 7B, Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital PACU, 8B, nuero ICU, CVC PACU, PICU, 4A, 7C, SSS, Brandon NICU, 12E, 8E, 8A, 4B, MSSU Maize, lab/phlebotomy, and transport/lift.
